About WissHom ...

The Scientific Society for Homeopathy (Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Homöopathie - WissHom) was founded in November 2010 in Köthen (Anhalt) in Germany. The seat of the society is in the building of the European Library for Homeopathy (Europäische Bibliothek für Homöopathie - EBH), a few steps from Hahnemann’s house in the Wallstraße in Köthen.

The intention of WissHom is to contribute to the progress of medicine and to the collective good. To this end, WissHom intents to further develop homeopathy both practically and theoretically. It will be WissHom’s task to breathe life into this committed objective. At the founding assembly in the Conference Centre of Köthen Castle, council member Curt Kösters expressed it thus: "Essential tasks for WissHom are the ongoing theoretical development of Homeopathy and the opening up of the entire spectrum of treatment to practitioners. The knowledge we already have must be consolidated and structured; new knowledge must be created and utilised. " It is through WissHom that appropriate structures for this are being created. As well as this, WissHom is to be the means of opening up constructive dialogue with medical sciences and other academic disciplines.

The foundation of WissHom had been prepared by a work group of the German Association of Homeopathic Physicians (Deutscher Zentralverein homöopathischer Ärzte - DZVhÄ). The concern was and still is to establish a society that should not only be open to doctors, but also to all scientists engaged in homeopathic research and teaching, who were prepared to join in pursuing the aims of the society.

With WissHom, the infrastructure for an active research landscape is to be created and fostered. The WissHom council cordially invites you to participate in the scientific discussion of homeopathy!
